thanks that helps alot .. i tried mechman but at the time they didnt offer an alt. for pt. maybe they can rewire a stock one idk , .. what is the rms rating of ur subs? r u running all 4 off of one amp? im keeping my pt. some what low key .. lol 2 15's RE XXX .. oh im sure u got got what i was saying i ment top notch lol sorry should have prof read it better ..

Damn that sucks about Mechman. I spoke with them a while back, probably almost two years ago, and they quoted me a 270a denso unit for around $450. But I guess maybe they don't wanna mess with them now, IDK? I'm pretty sure DC Power will make us one. Also, Ohio Generators will make just about anything anyone wants. I've heard pretty good things about them, I was thinking about trying them out.

My subs are only 600 rms each, but will be seeing 1000+ rms. All 4 will be powered by a DC Audio 5.0K @ .5 ohm (2 ohm daily)

And dude those XXX's are pretty mean subs, are you keeping them behind the back seat? There is enough room for 2 - 15's, but it's a tight fit. Just like everything in this car! But I love it, cause it is different than what everyone else is building. And yeah I got ya, your cool. Thanks again! :drink40:

Pretty sure what uv built is a wall u can no longer see the rear windshield due to large pannels of wood and subs being there hence a wall lmao

Yeah once they see the baffle there will be no denying what it is... but I guarantee they will still be confused!

Beautiful build. Great wood working skills. Best pt cruser I've seen

:thanx:

I actually don't have a problem with pt cruisers, only the models with the wood doors lol

Lol me too, I can't stand the woodies! Make all other PT's look bad.

Honestly, I used to not like PT's at all, until I got mine. Now they have grown on me, I have two!

Well, I got a little bit done the past few days, check it out!

Building bracing for the sealed section.

44788_518202871549043_68911115_n.jpg?t=1

So I started out doing all four sides there the cross bracing meets, and the middle. Check out the round-over on every edge!

68573_518202891549041_973958615_n.jpg?t=

Here I got all the seams covered, but it's not glued, just setting there. But round-overs everywhere!

Top section, still not glued

So then I started nailing and gluing. Brad nails and Loctite FTMFW!

These next few shots, it is all glued and nailed, (still comes apart in sections) but I left the center bracing out so you could see

61942_518203064882357_2068307763_n.jpg?t

See, still comes apart, so I can assemble it in the car

29583_518203131549017_652846202_n.jpg?t=

And that's about it for now, tomorrow I gotta practice assembly inside the car, finish up bracing the sealed section, and start on the rear doors.

That's right, I have to do the rear door panels next, before I can cut the front baffle.

Stay tuned, more ahead!

Looking good buddy! How are you going to attach that bracing? I'm assuming you're going to screw it in there, but trying to keep it two sections, I was just wondering what you're plan was. Any reason to keep it two sections? Keep on truckin buddy! Like McDonald's, I'm lovin it!

Thanks man! Yeah the reason I'm keeping it in sections is so I can put it together inside the car once I'm ready, but still take it in and out to work on it as needed. It will all be glued, screwed, and nailed once it's all in the car for good, with glass over top of that for good measure!

The center section will be attached here very soon, like maybe today! ;)

Thats some bad ass bracing you got going on there. Guessing your got some bigger subs in mind for the future. Top notch work like always! Love it man.

Thanks man, yessir that's the plan! Some lvl 5's or something beastly, after I pick up my second 5.0K. (which will happen at some point this year once I get the second alt going ;) )

Hahaha that's hilarious! Hell if you're comin' over, might as well come before Slamology and help get it done! Lol! BYOB!

Jk, man I swear I'm really trying hard, I want to be there with it this year BADLY!

nice man! just checked out the whole build

:thanx:

Lvl 5 s on 10k would be stupid loud in a car that size, make it happen lol hair tricks and dtp tickets at the turn of a knob

:OhYeah:

So how about an update?

I got a little done, check it out!

First thing I did was to remove everything and re assemble it out back, so I could work on it.

100_3459.jpg

100_3463.jpg

100_3465.jpg

Then I started to figure out how I was gonna attach the sealed section and bracing with the center baffle and ported section.. Notice how it comes apart in sections.

100_3466.jpg

100_3467.jpg

100_3468.jpg

Here is a mistake that I made, I went by the wrong line. Good part is, it really don't matter too much. Top

100_3469.jpg

Bottom (damn it)

100_3470.jpg

So then I put it all back together and laid it on it's front, cause I got an idea...

100_3472.jpg

Hmmm

100_3475.jpg

But there was a small problem. Wasn't much on the sides to screw it to, check it out...

100_3474.jpg

So I had the fix: Third layer for the sides of the ported section. Only thing, it will have to be cut out for my car in a few small places.

100_3476.jpg

More on the way...

Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k!

Why would you EVER WANT flex?
huh?...flex is what can make the lows lower and more air being pushed correct?
