mnrookie
Plenty of options out there. Just depends on what your budget is.
RooTxBeeR
Audiopipe is a no go. You really get what you pay for with that brand. Check out soundqubed, dc audio, sundown, star. They all have amps in the range your looking for. Edit: I forgot about crescendo, I believe the skar and sundown have 2.5k amps. ncochran
A lot of people will likely give me crap for this, but when compared to other amps that are rated at 14.4V Hifonics is not a bad deal. They are CEA compliant and they DO put out clean rated wattage at 14.4 VDC Granted, a lot of the other amps mentioned have better components inside... but if you ran 2000W (clamped) of Sundown, Skar, Crescendo, or anyone else.. and you compare it to 2000W (clamped) of Hifonics power, I doubt you would notice a difference (especially not a $600+ difference). The issue with most budget amps is that they are not CEA compliant and do not provide rated output. Hifonics seems to be a little more legit, but like all other amps, if you drop below rated voltage you will not get rated wattage. Having said that, if I had a bigger budget, I would have went with either Sundown or Crescendo probably. More expensive amps are probably more efficient, and more reliable in the long run. 2006 Scion xB 2 Sundown SA12D2 Ported at 32hz 147 on non termlab (140-142 on TL) Currently in a walled 4th @ 50hz (not metered yet) Hifonics brz2100 Alpine Type-S Components Kicker 300.2 Big 3 / Skyhigh 1/0 cca Optima Blue Top 3 e8s ported at 32hz 135.1 sealed on dash @ 56hz 135.0 outlaw (I must have chosen song poorly lol) Build log 'Brandon15zzz', on 09 May 2012 - 3:13 PM, said: May have been clipping but none fucks were givin. SGT_76
^^^^^ Like CleanSierra pointed out look in the classified section here, and also on the "other" boards. Good deals can be had (even great ones) if you look hard and have patience. I started out looking at "cheap" brands as well but soon realized I could get quality components for just a little bit over budget brand retail, if I searched hard enough. And it's possible for you to do the same, even with your budget. Just food for thought...good luck.
