Yes you can but I don't think that it will save you too much space.

Don't think it would be practical as the kerf would cause an odd shape in the port.

hey it's my thread! lol and i did kerfs cause its makes the the corners super efficient and basically makes the ideal corner for guiding the wave down the line. plus its way easier then trying to get the round corners with layers of bondo like i did on my 12" t-line. idk if kerfs save much space though lol and if im reading your question right, as long as you can fit it you can do it, you do have to reinforce the kerfed corners though with fiberglass. especially with high power subs.

and im planning on doing kerfs for a t-line for a BL 15 when i get to that point

alright uhhh so the bl 15 would be 32hz so 106in of port length.

sooo the sd is 125.5in^2 so the port would be 8.5" X 14.7" which would mean total height of box would be 29.25"

alright. and then......other stupid calculations and the length would be around 40.5"

so giving a rough estimate it's gonna be around 40.5" X 29.25" X 16.2"
