It's usually that as long as the batteries are the same chemistry type(AGM) and voltage type, you should be fine.

You are good to go. Just be sure the batteries rest at a similar voltage. Like... Don't use an old decrepit d3400 that can barely start the car with a brand new d3100 or something. Just make sure both batts are in good condition ;)

Brands don't matter, battery type will be a more important factor to look at. Size of the battery matters little when wired correctly. If I have time I can post why later tonight and how current is drawn with multiple batteries

x2. Lol. I've never heard anything wrong with mixing brands AS LONG AS it's same type (AGM) and same voltage (Don't mix a 12V with a 14V). Think I've seen a few kinetiks and xs batts mixed together before... few xs and dekas...ect.
