SnowDrifter
I was flipping through the Sky High/DC build off and noticed the use of polyurethane adhesive instead of wood glue. Being the curious type... I have to ask why? And "personal preference" really isn't the answer I'm looking for. No one has a personal preference because that's what they woke up and decided. There must be some sort of underlying reason ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
OrionStang
Overkill. That is all. Nothing wrong with wood glue. This forum is chock-full of overkill freaks. Mainly electrical, but now we see it it here. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
SnowDrifter
So then that means it's stronger than wood glue? ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
OrionStang
Stronger what? A solid assembled box is just that. How many boxes have you seen blow a seam using wood glue? None. (assuming the cuts are tight). These fools are just trying to gain attention. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

OrionStang
high adhesion levels, drillable, no need for clamps, flexible. And wood glue isn't any of these? Flexible? How is that a plus? SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

OrionStang
Drifter, overkill basically means unneeded. If wood glue doesn't fail, why is poly better? Its not. It s like the people that think you need 3 alts and 10 batts for 10k watts. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
will77530
some ppl think its better some ppl dont, personally i think its a waste because its so thick it doesnt really get absorbed into the wood as where a slower drying wood glue does, like i said everyone has a prefrence there is no this is better than this
