tacomaguy1
fans might be the only thing really....or tap into the a/c vents and run one back into the trunk by the amp? Team Flex Issues
SnowDrifter
Don't the NS-1s run a bit hot anyway?Do you have any fans? Edit: when I say fans: I don't mean ones that just blow air onto the amp. I mean ones that will pull cool air into the trunk so you aren't just circulating hot air ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Nikitaaa
I know you didn't actually run the amp but I run .25 and I have two fans. Never had any thermal protect issues mainly because I monitor how hot the amp is and give it a break every once and a while or if it's really hot outside I don't crank it. 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw
TRTC360
My DC 3.5k has going into thermal protect quite a few times after school, car sits under direct sunlight, amp sits right below my hatch window which acts like a damn magnifying glass. Just have to cover the amp with the sun visor thing for the front windshield and withing 5 min it's cool enough to come out of protect, never had issues from thermal protect because of playing it too hard, not a single time, wired to .5, 1, and 2 ohm at different times. 98GCLimited
Never went thermal protect but I uninstall my sub amps during the heat of the summer and run the mids/highs amp at a lower volume level so I dont fry shit. Its been 105-110 in the shade last few days already and gets 115-120 for about 3 months of the year here and over 120 once in a while. I get into my vehicle that sits parked outside and its so hot you cant touch the amps heatsink with your hand for more than a second or two before it starts to burn you and thats without the amps even being turned on. Fried a single mosfet on my amp less than a month after installing it because of the heat so I have came to the conclusion that I just deal with no real audio for summers here and uninstall at least the sub amps. lol
Wicks
Do you have a DC clamp meter by chance? Might be worthwhile checking the current draw when the amp is idle (should only be a few amps at most, if that). It would be good to know if your amp is drawing excessive current or whether its just warm from the ambient temperature (which seems unlikely unless the heatsink is in direct sunlight).
