Namosh Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 I'd say that more than half the clips I try to watch on Youtube start and stop so bad that they are unwatchable. Sometimes they completely freeze up for several minutes or even indefinately. I'm on high speed internet and I can watch streaming video anywhere else all day long with no problems. It is just Youtube that won't work. What's the deal? Quote My Ram Quad Cab Blow-through

Lack of ram, geographic location (far away from the server), internet speed (even though you have high speed it might not be fast enough) Quote 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. rusty959 Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 Also, some firewalls etc will block youtube, or make it run slowly, so check that out too. Namosh Posted February 19, 2008 Author Report Posted February 19, 2008 I'm on a laptop with 480 MB or ram. I don't know much about computers, is that enough? And I'm actually running two firewalls for some reason ...I'll turn them off and see if that helps. Quote My Ram Quad Cab Blow-through

I have 2 gb ram, and depending on what connection I am on you tube could run perfect, or could run choppy. it all depends on your connection. rusty959 Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 but still check the firewalls... techincally most people say you shouldn't run more than one anyways... AI James Posted February 19, 2008 Report Posted February 19, 2008 but still check the firewalls... techincally most people say you shouldn't run more than one anyways... everyone whos running a high speed connection is running more then 1 firewall, as you ISP has a firewall and your router has a firewall, thats not including anything you may have on the computer itself.
