Toofast4u Posted June 9, 2013 Report Posted June 9, 2013 I actually lost on numbers just a little but the lower frequencies got louder and deeper after I sealed off. Definitely worth it.

Swordlordboy1234 Posted June 9, 2013 Author Report Posted June 9, 2013 well my main reason for this rebuild wasnt to get louder really. my goal is to keep about the same (louder is always better) but i wanted to face the subs forward, mount the amps on top and try and get some trunk back for practicality reasons. having zero trunk because subs were facing the rear and i didnt want anything hitting the subs while boomin was a bit upsetting. srool Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 I just mounted 2 12's in my 2005 Impreza trunk, subwoofers firing backwards and port forward- sounded like crap. I probably won't be able te seal propperly my trunk. would a box on the front seats would work better?

Should I be sealed when I do this test? Or windows down? Doors open? Today working on my car doors open it got pretty nasty, I was surprised. Couldn't even hear my front stage words lol, on 150+ watts. So I opened the trunk with everything sealed, it got at least 1-2 db louder.... Same with windows down.. So that means I still am not sealed right. I hope the trunk open is a reflection of what it will sound like sealed.... Just sayin ..
