Personal Project------- Customized Tv Stand, speaker Center

Recommended Posts

well, if I dont like the way the mesh grill comes out, I had planned to just do grill cloth. If worse comes to worse, just make it look all sexy, no grill at all.

I had spent about $150 on this so far in wood, materials. Speakers are paid for, from years back, so Iam not adding that right now, but would be about $440 atleast in speakers, since Iam adding 2 more 6.75s, and 2 more tweets totaling 4 -6.75", 2 -4", 5 tweeters

And dont count out the cross overs, these I have pre made, because the speakers were mostly from pre made bookshelf speakers, and center speaker I had from when I worked at the speaker shop.

Iam thinking if I sell this, $500 would be a killer deal to the buyer

we will see .... off to the garage for a lil more work

I have a ritual called "terminator". I crouch in the shower in the "naked terminator" pose. With eyes closed I crouch for a minute and visualize either Arnie or the guy from the 2nd movie. I then start to hum the T2 theme. Slowly I rise to a standing position and open my eyes. It helps me get through my day. The only problem is if the shower curtain sticks to my terminator leg. It sorta ruins the fantasy.

Well, I have a SLIGHT bit of progress as of 3/1/08

Iam hoping to be done by tomorrow night, maybe not with clear coating, but atleast the body filler, assembly, and grill work.

The grill will be different than originally expected, but looks like it may still be looking iight....

I would have had this ALMOST done today, but I decided to drive 135miles away to the San Jose Fleamarket with the kids, and gf to do something different, she works tomorrow, so that is when I will get my finishing work in... I will ATLEASY have a tv on it, and xovers hooked up, with sound...

atleast with no grill, and clearcoat

I have my crossovers set up for the speaker set up, and the angle the side mids/highs are angled at are for a reason

it is for more spacial sound, and more realisim in live music, and tv/movies where there is alot of sound, and echoing, cheering, crowds, ect

It helps with the effect of a larger room sound , in a smaller room like my 12x14ft living room....

Will be great with an audience affect

so, here are the pics so far as of Sat, 3/1

Painted the pvc finally after sanding down with 60, 100, 220grit, washing with soap and water, then cooking before spraying in the oven at 200degrees

those pieces of wood at the top were there with the right angles cut in to then, since it was hard to keep the box straight while cutting holes, and keeping everything straight while mounting

And no pics on it, but I DADO'd that bitch on to the bottom piece on MDF that it was mounted on, used body filler to make a nice clean seal

next is to do about 3 more very small pieces of filling in cracks, or seams, and then prime, and paint

only really like 3hrs left of work, but needing to drive kids everywhere, and other side jobs going on, more like 8-10hrs of work....

Still hoping for tomorrow tho

thanks guys

The grill, I dunno, it looked nice when I was at ACE.. its stainless steel, flexible, and seems to fit the bill... now lets hope it wont give off a ringing sensation, or vibrations

I will use rubber spacers to help keep that from happening

The wind in Sac is really crazy right now, so I dunno.....

shaking the whole house, but for the most part I will be in the garage
