Neckbeard
My buddy has a 98 durango, when you start the car, if you dont rev the engine up it dies, and the lower rpms make the lights dim. In his gauge cluster, he has a OEM volt meter, when the car starts its at 8, then after you rev it up, it slowly goes to 14. I think its the alt, Any opinions?? infamous360
It sounds like the battery. A healthy battery should never be at 8 volts. AlphaDamp CLD Mat - Get more Sound Deadening with less Sound Deadener

Broke_Audio_Addict
It sounds like the battery. A healthy battery should never be at 8 volts. X2 on that a good batt will not sit that low. However it could be a combinantion of both and a bad batt will trash an alt real quick. If it was me I would replace them both That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. alaskanzx5
Or tell him to go to a local parts store and have his electrical checked. A lot of local part stores will do ot free. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. Broke_Audio_Addict
One more thing dont ever trust the stock volt meters. mine reads 12 volts while my dmm reads 14.3 volts.
