Upgraded from Kicker to RF

I'm not sure what type of power cable they used (I'm not very experienced in car audio myself). How would I go about determining the type of power wiring?

Box is 38 inches wide , 17 inches tall and 18 inches front to back.

EDIT: 38x17x18/1728 = 6.73ft3 if that number does any good.

Figured it may help if I post specs on the equipment.

This box looks very similar to give you an idea of the structure, also the size is pretty close to mine except for a 1/2 inch here and there.

Thanks again guys, I really appreciate it!

Also, I tried to check the gain, but on this particular amp there were only 4 settings. Subsonic filter, input level, lowpass filter and Bass boost (which I'm assuming would be gain) and that looks to be about halfway up.

I'm sure that amp isn't putting out a true 4k. What you need to do to make sure you really get the full of it. Upgrade your electrical and get a better amp. I don't have time to study your box, but a custom built and designed box is going to be ideal to getting loud.

I'll admit, half way through sanding that fiberglass in the rain and cold while I was all itchy I was definitely starting to question why i was doing this haha

Your box is 5.4cuft. Assuming it is made from 3/4 wood. You have to subtract 1.5" from each dimension because of the wood thinckness.

I don't know your port dimension, but you have to subtract that too, and the sub displacement.

I say that box is way too small for two 15's. and the port is probably too. You are just choking your poor subs.

Did you build this box, or is it some prefab box for 12's that someone cut the holes bigger for 15's ?

The box is prefab, they had it at the shop already put together. I can

Measure the port if it would help. I may go back to the shop and have them look at it tomorrow if adjusting the gains doesn't help.

100 to 120 amps is literally like a couple hundred watts. thats why it doesn't sound any louder.

but if the box is shit, then the woofers will perform like shit.

Also, if that amp really does anything close to it's specs on RMS numbers, your going to fry those P2's. They are only rated for 400 watts RMS. Why did you get such a "big" amp for those subs? For a little more money, you could've bought a Rockford Punch 1000 amp and have had power to spare.

No way you will ever buy a true 4k amp for just over 200$ unless you bought a used one of eBay. Your subs are good tho, you should build your own box or have someone built it for you. 120amps is 1200rms. My amp is 3k and that's 300amp fusing. The first thing you should do is do the big 3. I don't think you mentioned that, but def get a new box and no prefabs. Hope I helped
