CJ18
Ok so here is the real question. Who the hell "advised" you to check your alternator? Real advice. NEVER EVER FUCKING EVER LISTEN TO THAT GUY AGAIN!!!!!
Dan2427
A little harsh aren't we guys? He was tought wrong information as I'm sure we all were at one time! And op try all your tests again with the car on as they said and give us those numbers.. Then we can tell you if there is bad voltage drop somewhere in you're wiring. Personally I'd ditch the circuit breaker too and buy ANL fuse and fuse holder, unless you take your equipment out often and shut off the power with it. Edit: they're right tho I wouldn't recommend listening to whoever gave you that advice 2003 GMC Yukon Denali Alpine CDA 117 Redoing Mids/Highs 4 Runs of 1/0 Knukonceptz 2+, 2- 4 Deka 9A31's in back (Stock underhood) 250 amp Alt. crunkjuice1
plus alt not really a full blown charger it maintains batteries. It does have to me on to work. And your system small so alt is in fact working when on you looking at voltage with car off you eating battery reserve and thats why voltage dropping. I think you really want to see AMPERAGE of alt and see if your getting your monies worth but when you get to that do it with the car on please

And the fact more than one person agrees does not make it a circle jerk, it makes it a bukkake scene and you're in the middle Chick took 3 shots of Jager, and then, pissed in my mouth.. Your alt and batteries will love you long time if you keep the batteries charged by something other than your alt. Sutliff
Yep, I learned a bunch. A whole bunch, & still learned that my cabling & breakers are not causing a voltage drop. MrSkippyJ
You will get drop with the engine off and you are playing it. Check with the engine running and see how much it drops then. That's the only real way to tell. Sutliff
Have you noticed voltage drop when the engine is running? Yes. Major to begin with (never measured). That is why I bought the D3400.
