Trunk tension bars bending. Trunk pops when opened. Bass is breaking my trunk.

Yeah take a video and also.. When I had my system in my ford 500, the bracket came loose where my spare tire was at. Double check that and tighten it down. It made a loud ass rattle. Maybe that could be your problem? If anything put some deadener on that trunk lid.

New build coming soon..

U can also use weather foam stripping all the way around the trunk hood.. like 3/4 thick

def get some dampening..

I used to have 2000 Accord and it was a bitch to get away from rattle..

before

after ss

sometimes Loud is NOT pretty

Sounds like its safe to go ahead and bend that ass over.

Sound deadening will help but if its that bad now then it can only decrease but not completely go away unless you take serious steps like foaming, sound deadener, and acoustic foam in IMO. My 03 Lancer rattles pretty good and that's my plan. what ever it takes. Good luck.

Sealing off takes alot of foam though. Ive done this to my last car and it was a PITA and didnt help score wise at all. Ill figure something out.

I made a shitty shitty video thats loading right now.. Dont really have anywhere to test so i kinda had to make it quickly. My finger kept being in front of the lense etc. I just chopped up the video

its meh at best but maybe i can find a spot to really take my time tomorrow.

I used to have the same problem with my rear 2 doors. Bitches used to flex super crazy like the car was breathing in and out and it'd be really annoying loud, got some deadener on them and it helped out a good bit. They still breathed, but didn't sound as rattly

Driving home. Barely getting on it.. trunk is going ham for a second before I can't stand a flapping tin roof anymore. And I hear a loud metal bang.. I was like oh shit did it rip? Got home no rip thank god I open it up and it pops and clicks. I had to remove the tension bars in my old car so I checked those they seemed fine. But something was popping. I played with it some opened closed a lot got it to pop back into place or something its fine now.

Any advice for the future prevention of the death of my trunk?
