Do we even need high end decks anymore?

Recommended Posts

I enjoy the convenience of Bluetooth and if you demo there is always somebody who wants to hear THEIR song which makes it easy to say go ahead pair your phone and play your song but I still prefer CD.

There will always be a niche for high end equipment for the features but also for the status symbol they represent.

Unless you have heard a truly high end system then you wouldn't even begin to ask a question like that.

Unless your are completely closed minded to the fact that technological advances have put us in a time where it possible to achieve the highest quality sound reproduction from a mobile device in car then your foolish to make that statement.

Has anyone won an SQ award with a tablet or other device? I don't know, doesn't mean there aren't any systems out there who couldn't.

Are you the same type of person that still has a record player because it produces a "warmer" sound than a cd?

I'm gonna run my iPhone to my EPX2 via pin out to input b. Input a is being used by my alpine 7897 phantom face

I just don't see how running signal (mobile device) through an active device ( radio) and then to another active device ( processor) is beneficial. The cleanest path between two points has minimal processing. Running iPhones into a radio does something to the signal b4 it gets to the processor. I want the processor doing all the work thus I'm bypassing the radio. And since my epx2 had the RDAT I get the best of both worlds in my application

but if your HU has all the processing then its okay to do it..? I'm just looking to hear more from you ... I mean some HU has AUX through RCA/stereo mini ... others have USB .... which is "better"??? lol .... I use RCA on my P880 currently.... but I'd love to have USB so there isn't anything being done to the file before it's played. ... but that's just me

I would say USB is better allows you to bypass the DAC in the mobile/tablet/ipad device. I also can't stand every time I get an email the music skips via Bluetooth.
