(solved)for unknown reason orion sub putting amp into protect mode.

2003 Tahoe

dc 7.5k

dc level 5 15's (3)

MMats 341's

xs power batts

lots of sky high cable

dual alts(came off the sky-high gmc and don't know who made them)

ipad in center console

vu-din in center console

all being ripped out and being sold

god damn that woofer sounds like shit. you're probably gonna fuck it up if you keep doing that.

make sure the speaker wire going into the terminals on the sub isn't touching the frame behind the terminals. aka sticking the speaker wire in too far and having it touch the metal basket. this will cause a short.

measure resistance by turning the meter to this thing

take the cap out. its likely useless.

take the cap out. its likely useless.

the ohms measured at 2 on each side. adjusting the speaker wires didnt do anything.

Try setting your gain at about 25%. Set the xover to a guesstimated 80hz. And put the bass boost at 50%.

Try setting your gain at about 25%. Set the xover to a guesstimated 80hz. And put the bass boost at 50%.

better yet, turn bassboost off and superglue it off. absolutely useless feature 99% of the time.

OP doesn't have his headunit volume up high enough to yield sufficient preout voltage, or the subwoofer level isn't up all the way on the headunit.

Bad advice is bad. Gain position is different for everyone, and bass boost needs to be completely off.
