edgil1985
I have an 06 Tahoe LS and 10 Civic EX and want to replace all fluids with Royal Purple brand fluids. I'm just wondering how much of all of the fluids I should buy to replaced all of them fully.

Lyferxb9s
I send oil out for Analysis every 4k miles to either blackstone or Titan labs. I can tell you at my very first oil analysis Titan labs told me my oil was already junk and had been for a while. It had basically no TBN( detergents) left in it and the viscosity was like water. I get about 15k miles out of Mobil1 and as much as 26k out of Amsoil depending on how many runs at the track and what I tow during that time frame. Sutliff
Amsoil helps in everything from my newer 2003 3.8L Chevy, to my rodded-out 82 El Camino w/ snotty 'lil 406 small block in it. Do not run any additives with it ... if anything, before installing your filter, fill it with half of the Amsoil of your choice ... I run the Signature Series 0w-30 100% Synthetic ... but fill it halfway with that, then half with Marvel Mystery Oil ... for higher millage engines, etc. Do not add any of that Z-Max crap, Lucas Oil, etc I hope you all fill your filters, & do NOT just put it on & fire it up for a "dry start". #Ugh. audiofanaticz
I use to love the purple, but not so much no more, main reason was because it was purple, but after only a couple thousand miles I started hearing lifters and for the price of the oil and only a couple thousand miles was not impressed. There is some other stuff that is green in color, and to be very very good stuff, forget what it is, and never tried it. Been using Mobile1 high mileage 10-40 in both my vehicles, and I substitute 1qt of oil for Lucas oil stabilizer. As to why I use 10-40 is because its $2-3 cheaper per qt, and when your car takes 7.5 qts alone, and another 6 in the truck, it adds up quick. Besides the oil is only 40weight when cold, once its warmed up its no different then 10-30, but i wouldnt recommend 10-40 in the winter by any means. shogen
I did Mobil1 syn (3qts) and MMO (1qt) ... I was thinking of using the Lucas Oil but tried it out on a few recommendations from some old school mechanic I used to know who to me to try it... so far it's quieted down the engine quite a bit but I think I need to try the Mobil1 filter as I used a Bosch Premium since it was on hand when I needed it.
