oldsoundguy
My Ram 4x4 wasn't a solid axle. It had axle shafts. I am not 100% sure if they make one for your truck but they do for the Ram. I read were guys were getting up to 5 more MPG just by having the front free wheel. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
Popwarhomie
Best answer is just to drive slower. Or get something fuel efficient. My truck gets 12mpg and it was getting old. So I bought my focus. I get 41 mpg on highway with cruise on at 65 with a heavy ass wall. 2010 Focus coupe- 8 12" wall. 157.5@46hz 2016 Focus ST - SQ build. KiKaZz74
i plan on getting a decent car once i save up enough and buy outright. dont wanna bs with a loan and student loans. so ill save up and hopefully get a different job cuz this one just doesnt pay enough. ig ill just hve to deal with it and keep saving up. id be fine with 2wd but i need it in the winter and sometimes when hauling shit. if i get a nicer new car im wanting something that i fit in. im 6 4 and 300#... get over 20mpg city at least. lower miles. and easy to do aftermarket stuff cuz id wanna do a SQ type system most likely. as for slower sometimes an option. semis think they own everything so if ur doing 60 in a 70 they will more than likely run into you... btw interstate speed limits are 70 mph in illinois now My SPL to SQ Build Log Vehicle:1997 Dodge Dakota Ext Cab 4x4 2009 Dodge Journey SXT5.2L V8 Magnum 3.5L V6 Stock AltEquipment: Headunit- Alpine CDE-147BT Mids/Highs Amp- JL Audio G6600 Class AB 6 Channel Sub Amp- Hifonics BRZ1700.1D @ 2 Ohms Taramps DSP3000.1D Sub- Hertz Hi Energy 12" HX300D SounDrive SDA3 12 Tweeters- Rockford Fosgate Power Series Silk Domes Hertz Hi-Energy Mids- Dayton Audio Reference 4" Full Range Drivers Midbass- Silver Flute 6.5" Hertz Hi-Energy 6.5" Processor- MiniDSP 2x4 RCA- 6 channels of SounDrive HF series Wire- EB Flex 2/0 -Member of Team SounDrive

justin0943
Damn. Will it fit under a normal hood? And I think ill just have to deal with these gears then. Get the trans fixed and see what that does. I saw that powerblock one of the free hubs but idt dakota can do that since they arent solid axles up front. But idk. Been babying the throttle and coasting and its still sucked the same if not more gas than normal. On almost no idle time too. Moves off full around 37-40 miles and it was off at 30. yes it sets level with the black thing that sets on the throttle body 02 dodge ram 1500 reg cab 3rd gen 2 sundown sd-2 d4 soundstream rub1.2500 amp all sky high car audio-fuse,fuse holder, wire, ring lugs and rca flex tech box design by Joe X supension-mcgaughys 2in drop spindal ,western chassis 6in flip kit, buddy custom c-notch 04 5.7l hemi motor swap and made it an slt eletric everthing youtube channel-http://www.youtube.c...43?feature=mhee http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/190882-02-dodge-ram-1500-3rd-gen/

Amart88
Chevy cobalt maybe? Decent room in them, fair trunk space. Rear mounted battery, several HO alt options. Ughhhgh eww. I had one, good car but unless he plans on getting an externally regulated alt then I would avoid personally. Damn PCM controlled voltage was a huge PITA. Also, the trunk is large BUT the opening is damn TINY. My 2005 s10 blazer build. 4 zcon 18's walled.
