You can shoot .223 out of a 5.56 chambered rifle but it's not recommended the other way around. If you build it yourself make sure your barrel and upper are compatible also. oif2010 Posted July 17, 2013 Report Share Posted July 17, 2013 Just completed a couple of custom builds for a customer of mine, 5.56 has quad rails and all Magpul furniture I charged him $900, and a 7.62x39 with UTG furniture, BUIS, and a 4x32 scope for 1100. I just got a magpul sling and a couple swampfox mags, wanted to get some p-mags but all they had was fancy colored ones like carbon fiber and camos.
