wrexxy
basically as the title says. i was planning on a .75 ft^3 box for a single 8, but have been reconsidering that option since most people have been saying that the box has to be huge because of the port. I wanted the ported vs the sealed cause i didn't want to lose out on the low stuff 30 Hz and below.

wrexxy
oh ok there goes that idea. 14" of port at what port size though?
ToNasty
Make the port at least 1.5 wide. So that means 9" tall Quote ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
wrexxy
would i notice a difference between a .5 cu ft box vs. a .75 cu ft box? assuming their both tuned to the same frequency?
Brandonbkd
I'd stick with 0.75. Are you having trouble fitting a box that size? bbeljefe
This has already been said, sorta... that woofer has an EBP of 98. 50 and below do well in a sealed box and a 10-15% variation +/- 50 will work in both. Putting that speaker in a sealed box would be like putting it inside a safe and playing it. And an FYI. TO find the EBP (efficiency bandwidth product) divide Fs by Qes.
