CHEVY4X4BLAZER Posted August 8, 2013 Report Posted August 8, 2013 power rating is there for a reason, enough said.Which is? On the smd v2 not quite sure since specs haven't been released yet. I ran a 9k on one for a few weeks it eats power like there is no tomorrow And didn't they say the rating was going to go up on v2? Who knows what the new one'll take... OVER 9000!!! seriously.
turnin26s Posted August 11, 2013 Author Report Posted August 11, 2013 It's a super crew and I've got 250 mechman alt and big 3 and 2 batts and all 0 gauge power and ground but just one run of it and then dist into 4 gauge to both jl 1000v2 and 300v2. Also my mids consist of jl c5 comp 6.5 up front and 6x8 jl c2 for rear speakers.... Will that be able to keep up with a smd sub?? Or need to add another set up front? Also will my elec handle a 5000 watt amp? My work has 4/0 gauge should I use that instead cause I can get it for like 2 something a feet at cost? Sorry for all the questions , thanks for the comments already to guys
john253a Posted August 11, 2013 Report Posted August 11, 2013 You want 2x 0g runs from batt to amp And 1 batt in rear as a min for 5k rms On top of what you have already And drop 1x 0g run for 3.5k amp If you plane for 5-6k anything you run under that will power wise your fine myself idd shop around 3.5-5k amp Leave what you have under hood Fit a 3100 in the rear Run 2x 0g runs from front batt to rear Run 2x 0g runs from rear batt to amp And call it a day
