swishahouse22
just to expand on the topic of bandpass.... 6th orders are a ported chamber tuned low inside a ported box tuned higher, 8th orders are basically a 6th order with a 3rd ported chamber, both of these are a lot more difficult to build/tune correctly compared to 4th orders bandpass boxes are usually quite efficient for SPL if you have the space required to build one, if you can just picture for example 1 12" sub with factory spec'd sealed box and ported box attached to each other is a 4th order, that's the type of space we're talking about... the number of subs used has nothing to do with it being a 4/6/8th order its all about the chambers 4th sealed/ported...6th ported/ported.... 8th ported/ported/ported im glad you posted this man this is what I try n tell people who are wanting to try out a new box as I say their is really no exact specs for these boxes its all trial and error

Would like to see your setups. I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. At least in the reply. john253a
There are 2 ways to build 6/8th 1st is to use different length and size ports 2nd is to use the same length and size ports And for someone who has build a few You should no witch is better So ill leave it to you to argue the difference Side note 31 and 45 hz I just don't ever see working That box would be perky as hell and sound like shit 6/8th boxes if done right should give you near to flat response across a 40-50hz wide range (or within 2 db)
