If it was 120A and you got one that is 170A now you will see improvement, but not jaw dropping results. Well at least in my opinion. And measure your voltage drop at the amp with a DMM Good call on looking for dead belt on, and around the place.. ALso, love my fluke, for the MIN MAX setting..... (i just got done doing this very thing, like 20 seconds ago) I plug my leads in, (i just push them through the power/ground lead of amp) and.. just drive around banging nuts...... Then,.. i roll up to the pad, and just scan through, and see the MIN, the MAX and the AVERAGE... fucking LOVE that feature.... It will tell you things, even a ANALOG volt meter cant.. It should be pretty obvious if it's slipping. Slip = covered in a sticky, rubbery dust. No slip = clean (or dirty ) alt Edit: Just FYI my alt used to slip like crazy. Wouldn't make a sound and the belt *looked* good.
