jhmeg2 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 yo dude i think you need to rethink this DIY stuff. Maybe take it to a shop. I work in a shop (part owner) its my personal car with my idea just wanted to see people opinion of the setup and if it would work that all Quote ////Alpine, Eclipse, Load Boss, Pheonix Gold, MB Quart,Digital Desings, Memphis, Stinger, Periphial, MTX, Visualogic
mirosbee23 Posted August 30, 2013 Author Report Posted August 30, 2013 He wants to keep it totally stock basically. The depth of the SA will never work in that stock location. The magnet is damn wide too. And no, the SA will not work in a free air environment, not well anyway. that was my worry too I don't have the sa8 here with me to see fitment I figure the that sub has a big ass motor and didn't know if it would fit I have the specs but didn't see the point in checking if the setup its self wouldn't work free air Quote
SLAYER1805 Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 He's trying to put the sub in a cutout made for a factory alpine setup that wasn't an option. Dafuk. Just build a damn sealed or portedit was an option decided to make my own setup since I always redo system in all the cars I buyI can always build a sealed or ported box and be like everyone else im trying to do something different was trying to see if anyone has tried it or is also trying to do this and what route there going It is a creative idea, but that cutout was most likely designed to work with the alpine subs they use Quote

CleanSierra Posted August 30, 2013 Report Posted August 30, 2013 (edited) Fi SSDs sound like a good plan. That box won't take up too much space either. Edited August 30, 2013 by CleanSierra 1 Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Smoove Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Would the sundown sd-2 8 work? They like seled boxes better.. I have never run the SD-2 8, but I am currently running a SD-2 10 in a sealed box and it sounds great.
