Opinions on Cigarette Lighter Y-splitter

Not necessarily that model, but any splitter for the lighter. I need one, but in the back of my head im thinking its like overloading the plug.

So, any reviews or any thoughts on safety? Post it here.

I used to use one that I picked up at the local Wally World to charge 2 phones at once. Seemed to work just fine but would occasionally get hot. Other than that never really had any problems

I figured heat would be an issue, thanks. How long would it take to get warm with both phones charging? Im going to use it for my Valentine 1 and dash cam.

Itd no different thsn the usb hub ones we use in our cars. I know one outlet puts out like 2.5 amps and the ither does 1 amp. Maybe similar with these.

Yeah, i'd think it'd be almost the same thing.

Pretty sure they are all fused, too, in case something does go wrong.

everything in your car is fused. if it stops working you'll know you're overloading it. lol.

Do it.. I hard wired by Escort 8500 and Garmin.. So much cleaner.. Night and day.. No comparison..
