Karkov Posted September 22, 2013 Report Posted September 22, 2013 Driving around and sounded like Left channel wasn't as loud, stopped, and sure enough although all speakers were working the left was way quiet.... What would cause this? Too much power? I am giving them rated power. plenty of air movement over them. It's the porcelain white thing broke in half and on the crossover housing you can see where the plastic melted a little bit. What causes this? really sucks because i wanted to stay passive. Anyone got a Rockford Fosgate T3 Crossover for sale? You would have to play your speakers at deafening ear splitting levels to overpower the crossover, and even then the drivers are more likely to fail way before the crossover. I would contact rockford and see what they can do for you. Otherwise e-bay often has miscellaneous crossovers, or hopefully somebody here can help you.Isn't that how it goes man? 1 step forward, 2 steps back!

How close was it to your subs? those damn 15's + heat could of caused that part to crack. It was under the rear seat but the seat was folded up when this happened. Not really anywhere close to the subs. Windows down on a 60 degree days this thing was plenty cool, just failed or something I guess. You could run active with what you have. Channel 1 of your amp for both left tweets, channel 3 for both left mids, channel 2 for both right tweets, channel 4 for both right mids. Now the mids would be on the "rear" channels and the tweets on the "fronts". Use the rear outputs high pass filter on the deck (high pass 80hz) and the amps low pass crossover on the rear channels at 3000hz. Now your mids have a nice bandpass between 80-3000hz. Then simply use the amps high pass crossover at 3000hz on the front channels and send the tweets a nice clean signal. Or just get a new crossover.

You could run active with what you have. Channel 1 of your amp for both left tweets, channel 3 for both left mids, channel 2 for both right tweets, channel 4 for both right mids. Now the mids would be on the "rear" channels and the tweets on the "fronts". Or, even see if they will hook you up with a refurb, for a swap of yours, to get you up and running again asap.
