Jbiddle530
So I have a sealed box for 4 8s. I have just under .4 cubes per chamber but only 4.75 max depth. So sundown sa8 and skars are out of the question. I'm looking at Polk mm and alpine type rs any one have any experience with either in sealed boxes available to other options too. Currently running 4 jl8w1v2s on a jl jx500 amp. But I'm wanting better lows and wanting louder as well
mrd6
Image dynamics ID8 would be another good option, I think they fit that depth requirement. I love mine... Krakin
For low end extension have you considered ported? Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Jbiddle530
In that size box with port length there's only room for 2 properly sized 8s ported. I am going to run 4 sealed I just don't like the low end extension that the jl w1s have.

mbdblue
shit, I'd just see if you can squeeze 3 8s in a ported....Doubt your gonna get much audible difference in just changing woofers man....If you change power, box, tuning, maybe....but not just the subs.
