Its hard to say if it would get just as loud but it would still be loud as hell. If you wanna do 8 18's, have the money, time, and most of all electrical, than do it. It will be a bit more of a challenge than the 4 but if its what u want to do then do it.

If you wanna do it, then do it! Personally i think 4-6 would be better though. More airspace, battery room, and less crammed. 8 18's is gonna be 40 pounds in a 5 pound bag i think. It is possible, but i personally don't believe the extra money, time, and cone area will be worth it.

I did a build wigh 8 18 inch mayhems.... it did a 158.x. but had loading issues for doing a crazy ass box to try annd make the subs fit everyytime I went over 157 dbs a sub would blow I then switched the box to 6 18 inch mayhems and was able to get to a 162.4 and that made windsheild would go...

Steve meade also did an 8 18 mayhem builld for chicken both builds are posted on this site
