Door Panels: Starting New 02 Civic

HELPFULL TIP FOR YA'LL OUT THERE. WHEN SANDING AREAS THAT ARE FLAT BUT CURVY, LIKE THE INSIDE ANGLE CUT OF MY RINGS, DO NOT USE YOUR FINGERS AS GUIDES, IT WILL LEAVE A WAVY PATTERN THAT WILL BE VISIBLE WHEN YOU PAINT THE PIECES.

INSTEAD USE A PIECE OF FLEXIBLE FAKE WOOD RUNNING BOARDS THAT THEY SELL IN HOME DEPOT. CUT A PIECE AND CURVE IT WITH YOUR HAND, CUT A PIECE OF SANDPAPER THE SAME WIDTH OF THE BOARD, GLUE IT TOGETHER USING 3M SUPER 77 ADHESIVE AND YOU HAVE AN INSTANT RADIUS SANDING BLOCK.

LIKE SO.

good info! I always use an assortment of dura blocks:

http://www.tcpglobal.com/autobodydepot/durablock.aspx

And sanding blocks from Mobile solutions:

http://mobilesolutions-usa.com/smartparts/sandingproducts.htm

but that is definitely a good budget option!

Thanks , I hope it is helpful for those that come in here to try and learn how we do these projects but have no idea how. If I can help anyone the feeling i get is it's own reward.

Sanded down the rest of the panel down to 240 grit to eliminate the factory wrinkle look from the plastic.

made a negative of the area where i'm gonna mold the other tweeter at. then i will have to make a positive from the negative and mold the tweeter to it. It will be flush into the area.

Looking good! I like the design!

Are you going to make the edges/lines of your acrylic parallel with the rest of your design? Like the back edge of the acrylic and the bottom edge of the tv mount. It looks a little perpendicular in the pic. I personally think it would look best if lines were parallel, but that's just my 2 cents. Either way I'm sure you'll make er look good!
