loganberry Posted March 3, 2008 Report Share Posted March 3, 2008 they were going to try and take him off the ventilator to get him to breath on his own (they did surgery on his diaphram yesterday) but they decided to wait till after the plastic surgeon repairs his face. His jaw and the bone by his eye socket have fractures that need to be repaired and no need to take him off the ventilator then put him right back on it again is their theory. He also broke one of the bones by his shoulder too. The swelling itself on his face has gone down some so thats positve sign but she says he still looks like someone punched him a few times....... anyway if he wakes up and says something you guys will be the first to know after me.....everything is still early of course. thanks again for all the replies his wife says she REALLY appreciates it. He was in bad shape when it all went down. Still is, but it was even worse finding him face first on the ground, litterally nose to the dirt with blood everywhere. Not a pretty site at all. When they came to the house and said he was hurt i had no idea he was hurt that bad, i grabbed my forty and rolled down the hill expecting him to be sitting down holding his leg.....of course when i saw him i was done drinking for the nite. I come close to losin it every time i talk to her but if she isnt losin it then i have to be strong like her. My voice is messed up from puking the next day (wasnt that drunk just very worried) and it ruined my vocal cords.......so no one can tell if my voice is messed up or if im gettin emotional when i talk. That helps too Its not really so surprising, most men are only as strong as the woman that stands beside them. Not saying all men. Go home and cry with the dog, thats what I would do. Dogs are the best, no comments or words just someone there looking at you and undertands that your hurting. Then, go down and see your boy and look at him as the man you know and not what lies in front of you.
