FeelDaBass Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Hi, I've been recently having potential battery problems. I bought an Optima yellow top about 1 year ago from eBay new and it has always sat around 12.6 volts resting in my car. Just a month ago it started going lower and lower. It is currently at 12.1 resting almost everytime I jump in my car, even after just a couple hours after the car has been driven. Could my Optima be dying?? I paid $174 for it and they are suppose to be solid as a rock, so I wouldn't think so. Also, my alt has always charged it anywhere from 13.5 to 13.8 volts and has recently been higher around 14.2 volts. It is only ~32 degrees outside and is going to get much much colder. I have a RF T1500-1bdCP @ 4 ohms and a T600-4 @ 4 ohms with a RF capacitor. Stock 130 amp alt. Optima is a D34 group.Any thoughts or info on this matter? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Soccerballzs Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 Sounds like you system is graving more power. May need to upgrade to bigger alternator or a D31000s in backs. Battery is not charging because system is taking all the power. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/garage/vehicle/2438-jeep-commander/I Pioneer P99RSAmpere 38002-Ampere 125/44-6.5 inch Hertz HSK XL Mids4-8 inch JL Audio ZR Midwoofer 2-5.25 Satori Mids2-Morel Tweeters, 2 Hertz Milles 3 inch on A pillars2-Hertz Silk tweeters DC Audio Level 5/12 Skyhigh Wire Mechman 320 XS Power D3100MO Funniest Thread of the Year 2013: http://www.stevemead...dy-being-a-pos/

03 Xtreme Fosgate Posted November 2, 2013 Report Posted November 2, 2013 I've had one for 6 years with no problems so I don't why yall are having the issues you are with them.. I think they're good batteries, mine was only on 1500 watt setup at the time in my truck. I got a D3400 under hood now and D1200 in back. My YT has been in a closet resting at 12.6 volts for 7 months. Sounds like you need to charge it with a good charger and upgrade your alt them maybe add another battery in the back if needed after that. I charge my batteries with a C-tek 7002US and it'a an awesome little charger..
