Keeping blowing tweets and X-overs. Why?!?!

Ok so I have 2 sets of 4 ohm 6.5" Crescendo components, 1 in kick panels and 1 in doors running off a Rockford Fosgate T600-4. Speakers rated at 100 watts and amp rated at 100 watts x4 @ 4 ohms. So I have a total of 4 mids and 4 tweets and 4 crossovers. Wired 1 tweet and 1 mid to each Crossover then a single positive and single negative into the amp (that's the way these crossovers get wired). Just got these things installed today after work, speakers should have been seeing their rated power, running passive, less than 20 minutes of play time, amp at 4 ohms and SET WITH A DD-1. The tweeter side of the crossover melted, on all of them.... Haven't checked the tweets with DMM yet to see if they are blown. Oh, and at the time of this happening today there is no other amps hooked up or installed, no subs, nothing, and my voltage doesn't move.

Why does this keep happening and what am I doing wrong? Please let me know your thoughts so I can avoid this happening again. Any questions about my setup please ask.

A month or two ago I had 2 sets of Rockford Fosgate T3 6.5" components running off a T1000-4a and same thing happened, blew all 4 tweets (verified with DMM) and melted 1 crossover. In this case they had more than rated power, that's why with the Crescendo I paired them up with an amp perfectly, or so I thought.

My equipment is... oh and I used SHCA 4 guage OFC for power and ground to positive and negative on the D3100's. Relay in line with remote wire from head unit from CE electric, and each crossover (2 speakers) wired into each channel of the 4 channel amp.

It sounds like they are getting too much power but the rms of the amp and the speakers seems to be compatible. Can you take a couple pictures of the crossover guts.

Damn. That sux.

I pulled off a single comp set on my 1000.4ad

A single channel to each.

That sux bud, that has to be expensive. I liked my t3 tweets so much, I bought another set, as they were far from cheap.

Shit, sorry man. Your using the xovers? I ran active. Tweeters set high. Like around 4.5 -5k. With a fairly steep xover. -18db

Damn, your gonna get a shit storm of people telling you about over power. But... I know you know what's up...

Sorry man.

Yes i loved my T3's also. My initial build was supposed to be put in and never have to touch anything, blew those T3 tweets and decided I would go with Crescendo CZ series because they were cheap and *just in case*. Well fuck, just get it hooked up and bam tweets stop working and I notice X-overs are melted.

Yea, over power maybe but I don;t really see how. Quality amp and clean power DD-1'd and every single rating matches up to a *T*

I don't dare buy more sets now till I figure out what I am doing wrong. i thought I was safe going active with rated clean dd-1'd power, lol
