Personally ive had good experiences with the memphis audio m. Class 6.5s.. in the past they were rated 50w rms 100w peak but they were really high priced. Anywhere from 350-450 depending on where u buy them. They had a nice response .very smooth 1" silk dome tweeters and the kevlar and fiberglass coned mid drivers reproduced mid frecuencies pretty accurately. . It was very impressive how loud they got with such little power and how clear they were a high volumes. Granted they were really only made for use with memphis amps given the right power they were some strong cpmponents. But im sure there are better or similar out there for the same price and even for less money. Ive seen the re xxx mids but not the tweets ..rhose mids are beasts..pretty much miniature subwoofers..take alotta abuse. Ive also had infinity speakers but I dnt think they qualify for audiophile. EDIT: Regardless of how good one piece of the puzzle is it will only sound as good as the worst piece your using. If the source is dirty, clipped and distorted then no matter how good the gear is it will only sound as good as the material you use, and the same thing goes for each and every piece of the puzzle.
