TBH you can use 1 watt resistors. No need for 10 watt. I just got them because I found the size easy to work with. Something like this would do. Or any of the ones you posted

so say I bought an AGM battery with the big 3 upgrade on a 120 amp or bigger alternator would I be able to buy 2 supercapacitors like the ones @banginhummer posted

would that work on a 2k RMS system?

is that look like a good set to run with a singer 350alt and 2 or 3 bats to power 4k watts and still stay around 14v

All I want to say is if you are unsure of what you are doing, dont fully understand the purpose of these and dont understand the basics, i wouldnt put supercaps in your ride. they can be dangerous if missused.

how do you know how many banks or banks of what size you would need with your equipment. like ok i wana run well say 8k rounded up in my neon. the biggest h.o alt i can find atm is like 220 im trying to find something bigger i plan to get a xs power d7500 for where my spare tire is and something big but maybe not that big up front. now i have room for 2 other batteries on the size but not something terrible large. maybe there d1400 on each side but i have a fairly small area where i think caps would work well behind my box. so whats the math as to what size bank i would need for an 800 ish max amp draw. this is a daily car. not a burp

I like 100-200 farads for every 1000 watts, personally.

And don't mix a d7500 with a d1400. A d1400 is a 14v battery and cannot be used with a 12v battery. Use a d3400 instead

I was pretty sure that when you wire them in series that you add the voltage but the farads stay the same, like if you have 3 - 2.7v at 3000 farad and wired them In Series u would have a setup that could handle a charge up to 8.1 volts with a storage of 3000 farads still, not 1000 farads. Otherwise If you had 3000 caps in series you would have a circuit that would be able to charge at 8,100 volts and only have 1farad of storage from what u were saying

2 banks of 6 2.7v should support 3-5 k depending on alt my 1000 amps of alt an 6 d1400s plus 26 caps does pretty good on my 2-8 ks @.35 only drop .3-.6 full tilt

It seems that here in Australia, a lot of people are still stuck on what they are actually used for...

100 farad per 1000w rms! The people that do tell me they work, recommended to me 1 farad per 1000w rms???

So here I am to get schooled!! Lol

Now I take it that the 1 farad cap I bought is not the type I want to be using? Or is it?

Will it be ok to use for music based system?
