Karkov Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 Hey guys, had similar issues a while back when switching HU's. Haven't had tunes for about 2 months but recently re-installed 2 amps to have a little bump. With one amp everything works fine, with 2 amps neither amp turns on when I start the vehicle or turn on HU unless I pull either remote wire out of either amp and re-install it, then all is good till vehicle is off again. I have the micro by-pass chip thing for Pioneers to watch video while in Drive and also a relay kit from Auto Electric Supply behind the HU. I know when installing these 2 devices I tried one inline in front of the other each possible way because had the same issue then. The remote will only work properly when 1 amp is hooked up. Any thoughts how can I could finally this this issue? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Karkov Posted November 30, 2013 Author Report Posted November 30, 2013 Take the bypass out amd see what happens What are you using that relay for and what did you tap into for your source and trigger With Bypass out the remote situation in question works as it should,...BUT i want to see video when I drive (fucking Pioneer). I added the relay because I want to run multiple amps (3 currently and adding 2 more soon). The relay (kit from auto electric supply) has it's own ground behind the HU and I ran it to it's own positive as well. I had issues with an Eclipse HU I had before the Pioneer so I chose to run new wires for everything. I have swapped around the relay and bypass, I.E. ran one in front of the other or connected first to the HU's remote wire and it doesn't seem to make a difference what configuration i try still seems like the remote wire will only satisfy one amp properly, add a 2nd to the equation and none turn on when turning the vehicle on. Weird huh? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. n8ball2013 Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 wow thats weird. I hate to say it but maybe another relay is needed one for amps and one for the micro bypass. Yet another reason to dislike pioneer. Talk to Tony and explain the issue. I bet he gets it figured out. Hes a geek. Karkov Posted November 30, 2013 Author Report Posted November 30, 2013 Have Tested the voltage on both remote wires with a dmm while plugged in to the amp? Actually I did try this and there is power there but amp doesn't turn on, truly the oddest thing. What I think is actually happening is that the bypass chip thing is not doing it's 2 cycles of positive quick when it is hooked to a relay or something because i think that's all I am doing to get it to work. wow thats weird. I hate to say it but maybe another relay is needed one for amps and one for the micro bypass. Yet another reason to dislike pioneer. Talk to Tony and explain the issue. I bet he gets it figured out. My two amps are running at different voltages though. maybe try a second relay?? honestly that's what i was thinking about trying but don't have one laying around (shitty I know) but thanks for the idea. Still seems weird though, have to add a second relay (if it works) just to do what no relays coulda shoulda done... 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq.
