oldsoundguy
I looked at the tracking number for my vinyl and it will be here Monday. I can finally get my doors finished up. I need to find the right glue for the vinyl. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
JNells
I looked at the tracking number for my vinyl and it will be here Monday. I can finally get my doors finished up. I need to find the right glue for the vinyl. 3M 90 adhesive or Loctite stage 3 professional grade. I found the Loctite a little easier and less messy to apply, but also heard it's not as good as the 3M. (But i have yet to have any issues or problems with Loctite, used on my headliner too) Malibu Build Log
goodvibez
I just used some 3m 90 on my box with some cf vinyl and carpet mix and worked great. Used 3m 77 though and everything I used it on has started undoing its self But some of it I went back and used the 90 on it and fixed it....sprays better in my opinion too! Great work man this thing is a clean machine! Keep it up looking forward to more! Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are! I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating! oldsoundguy
Vinyl came yesterday. Seems like nice fabric. It streatches easy and should form around the corners nice. I will do some glue testing after work to see what works best. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
oldsoundguy
Got the door panels wrapped in the black vinyl. This vinyl is the shit as far as being able to work it and stretch it. I bought some Loctite spray adhesive and it worked great. Just traced the pattern on the back so I knew were I wanted the glue and hit each with a couple of coats and let sit for 5 min. Then laid it on top of the door panel and smoothed it out. After I did the front on both I started with one panel and started gluing and stapling the vinyl. I think it came out real nice. Now I have to take the four speaker rings I made about a month ago and wrap them in vinyl so I can use them as spacers. Ya I fucked up when I placed the speakers on the door panel. The front speaker hits the metal of the door panel. I was going to cut it but the window guide bolts right about center of were I want to cut. So that isn't going to happen. I came up with the idea of vinyl spacers after I saw the speaker rings I had laying around. It wont be perfect but I think it will look good enough. 80prs Arc Audio Xdi 1200.6 (using active crossovers) Freaking awesome amplifier Incriminator IA 10.1 Focal PS 130v 5.25 (doors) 4" Faital pro Neo (kick panels) 3" Faital pro Neo and focal tweets( dash) DC Audio level 3 12" custom box designed by joex built by me AGM front, XS 750SE batteries rear DC 180 alt 99 Toyota Tacoma extra cab http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/179476-my-small-build-turned-into-the-ongoing-build/
