Aj11
i just sold my vented box and got a sealed for free. i was surprised how good it sounds. so now when i build my box for all 3 of my 12s I'm gonna go sealed.(third amp should be in a week) my only problem is the sealed i have now doesn't play low hz(duh) so when i build the box i want it to play down to 30hz. so there's my question how big does a sealed box for a single 12(alpine type r 4th gen) have to be to get that low? i was thinking 3cubic feet? please help! each sub will have its own air space with its own jl 500/1 v2 3 alpine type r 12swd4 3 jl 500/1 v2 00g wire distribution Block 4g out to each amp second battery coming right After Christmas thanks in advance jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
ChevyBoy95
i would do 4.5-6 cubes sealed for 3. to get a proper sealed box tuning, you need to plug some info into tuning program that will spit out a response curve for the given size with the given subs T/S parameters. Aj11
you would do 6cubic feet in ttotal for all 3 subs? or 4 cubic feet each? i have the room for almost anything. there in a 1.2 sealed box right now and its way to small!(for what I'm looking for) jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)

bbeljefe
The difference at 30Hz between 1 cube and 3 cubes sealed is the difference between 99 & 100 MPH. If you want good response at 30Hz, build a ported enclosure tuned to 33. Aj11
no my box was decent for a prefab. atrend kandy kolor b box 2.25 gross per sub @ 38hz it was Just time to go because of the third sub. got a deal on the atrend for $160 had for ten.months sold for $100I'm Happy with that. i was reading that for a 12inch sub to have a flat response at 20hz the box had to be 5cubic feet(i do have the room for that but jeeze!) so i was thinking around 3 would give Me low/mid 30hz area. but if you guys really dont think its possible sealed I'll go vented. i was also thinking about Just going at 3cubic feet each sub see how it sounds if i dont like it port it to the hz i want. does that sound like a good idea or Just build a nice slot vent? fist box build so nothing to crazy! even tho i want a 4th order but have no idea where to begin jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
OrionStang
Stick with a pair of 12's and build a proper ported box. You'll be louder and spend less money. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
