There is no priority on this, Its basically all or nothing. Your alternator needs to make power the batteries store it. Without making it you'll quickly tap out your batts. Without a place to store it your alt will be useless really.

The biggest one you can get to fit your vehicle.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

The next best thing you can do is to get as many batteries as you can afford, and build a massive battery bank to power it with and monitor your voltage carefully.

You will need to put a charger on them quite frequently but it will at least get you up, running and playing until you can get an HO alternator.

BTW what kind of vehicle is this?

Some models have higher output stock alts that will fit allowing you to get a slight upgrade for much less.

If you want a tip from someone who's been there.. find what alts can be made for vehicles and get one of those vehicles.

I had a lancer. LMFAO. I'm still waiting on someone to make one (Yep, tried all the big boys). Well, got rid of the vehicle and asked what they make one for. Went and bought vehicle. Now I just need to save for the alt... but in the meantime, stock alt will suffice. Will it kill my stock alt faster than normal? Yep. Will my voltage be good at all times? Nope. But it'll be big enough to do the job.
