SnowDrifter
Via a transformer. Can use it to step up/step down AC voltage. Ohms law to calculate the ratio and the impedance the amp would see. Discuss This is purely theoretical of course ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
ROLEXrifleman
Are you asking if it can be done or has been done? Leo1103
How would it lower impedance? I'm genuinely interested in how it would work. 2002 Honda CR-VAlpine 9887My BuildRebuilding... biscuitownz
How would it lower impedance? I'm genuinely interested in how it would work. Different gauge wire on the secondary coil of the transformer would change impedance.
bcpballer64
I mean it can technically be done but for some of the high power rigs on here you would have to have a big ass transformer and a way to cool the bitch. Bradprobert
Maybe someone could test it? I would but I dont have the time or equipment to fry. Wicks
Impedance matching transformers. Been around for decades. Wouldn't work these days due to the high power run on modern subs, as said above the transformer would have to be HUGE. You also have to make sure that the transformer can handle the frequency range of the speaker as well.
