Herokight
^ All of this. And Fosgate's site says a 150a fuse for the 1500, and a 100a should do it for the 400.4. I don't wanna jump down your throat or anything man, but electricity is no joke and neither is anything catching fire. Take care of that electrical, you'll be glad you did. SnowDrifter
HOT solder or hydraulic crimp any ring terminals. ^^^THIS^^^ Find a torch, rosin flux, learn to solder. Or invest in a crimper and some copper crimp lugs, choice is yours. You can also solder the closed ended crimp lugs, but you can't do it the other way around and crimp solder lugs This is a crimp lug. Either crimping or soldering is acceptable This is a solder terminal. You can only solder it. Long story short, dissimilar metals don't fuse very well ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Facekicker
You can use those same style crimps if you solder them. Crimping them alone generally leaves you with a situation like your photo. But soldering them wont help if you have a loose connection where they mount. I'm guessing that positive nut on the cap was loose. 2002 Monte Carlo Started a build log Fi, DC, Mechman, XS Power
