Cause more harm then good over time if higher then 14.4 over long periods of time. And yeah that will work for 4k power. You will see some drop, but not too bad. You don't really gain much by charging high, once you exceed the alternator's output, you'll drop to battery voltage anyway. XS doesn't recommend above 14.4 themselves. It is not quite that simple though, the ambient temperature of the batteries and the amount of alternator current capacity makes a big difference. Cooler batteries with less alternator amperage can take a little bit more charging voltage before they swell.
