CleanSierra
Yes the bolt pattern is the same. The major time you will notice a different bolt pattern is on 4 inch coil woofers, 2 or 2.5 inch coil woofers. And spider/surround landings? That is different between the baskets. Thank you. I appreciate you chiming in. I guess now I go look for two matching baskets that work with these motors in a 10" frame. I wonder if the DD stuff is interchangeable with it? I would just love to have two baskets that match each other, I hope that's not going to be a tall order :/ Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Bump4life
yea dd uses same baskets. unfortunately, 10 inch baskets seem to be hard to come by especially in the old style. not many 10s are made in the larger woofers that use the good baskets. I have 2 12 inch baskets that would fit. the newer ones. if you are looking for older ones goodluck. ive only seen 15 inch and 12 inch old style baskets. i had an old 12 spoke 10 come through a while ago and i used to own a pair but now all the newer ones are taking over. id say file a claim get money from fedex or shipper mainly. guy you bought from is an idiot. and call up aq/dd for new baskets. should be 25 a piece plus ship. plus youll get the larger spiders with newer baskets. CleanSierra
Thank you for your input, I'm glad you chimed in too. That's why I love this place. I put in a call today(weekend I know) with an inquiry for two new baskets and the recone kits. I'll just prefer then when they tell me how much to pay. I read my email again and the guy said it WAS him that packaged it. I text him yesterday later I'm the day(he's on the east coast) and didn't hear back from him. He also hasn't text me back today yet. He said he thought he packaged them ok. I'll have him star the process with FedEx, although I'm nearly positive the claim will be denied due to his shitty packaging of the sub. We Shall see. Im not the one you want to try to troll. We Shall see. i have been through the claims process a few times with all the carriers. their jobs at the claims department is to save the company as much as possible, thus they will not pay you out if your stars arent alligned. i once had a brand new DD9512 dropped and basket was broke. box was rated for the weight, 2 inches of packing on each side of dense foam, you could see the indent on the inside. keep in mind the sub couldnt move in there either, which means the box took a huge fall, and they still said i didnt pack it well. i also have an account with them and ship tons and they still wanted to deny my claim. i fought with them for 5 months to finally get my reimbursement. they made no effort to call me at all. i had to do everything. go through my account manager. but ive also had the claim go through in 2 weeks and had the check on the 3rd week... fast check was for 100 5 month fight for 430 for recone and basket.. long story short you should be fine but if packing isnt good they are gunna try to deny it. and mostlikely will win. your best bet is to take it up with paypal if shipping claim doesnt go through. or contact seller directly and try to work it out with him. ChevyBoy95
I don't got much to say about your question, but I do appreciate the fact you put the possibility on the blame from the shipper. I work at UPS and I see how things are handled. A lot of times and I would say 85% of all package damages comes from the shipper improperly sealing or packing their product. Like what you got, people who pack heavy ass packages, and then don't even put anything in there. Then expect it to stay intact going halfway across the country. I hope all is good with that sub though, I would like to assume that if the center pole shifted or the magnet itself did, the coil would probably not move at all. The gap in there is tiny as fuuuuck. yea and then there are the people who way over package something and they still break it and dont pay a claim... like me. wood crates for subs, well they broke the wood crate completely, broke the basket in 6 places, mounting ring for the motor was completely snapped off, motor was lying in the bottom of the box.... but that is my fault for packaging it wrong..... UPS sucks period. /rant Best Score to Date : 160.5 dB Outlaw (47Hz)[4 XM 15's & 2 Taramps Bass 12k's] BL : http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147800-chevyboy95s-4-15s-7krms-wall-1533-db-on-half-power/YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/hitemwiththeflex/
CleanSierra
I honestly don't even feel this is the carriers fault. This was the guy who packaged the box and his fault. I agree, UPS and FedEx make their share of mistakes, but this wasn't one of them. This sub could have survived had it been packed well. The longer it takes this kid to respond, the more pissed I get though. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

oldsoundguy
I agree, its the sellers fault. How can you even think shipping a heavy ass sub like that in bubble wrap would be ok. CleanSierra
Yeah I'll just end up buying the new style baskets and recones and wipe my hands clean. If I end up getting $25 from the kid, that's a bonus. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
