BigManAC
I have looked around before I started a new topic and can't find the answer. What is the difference between the XS power D and XP batteries? I know the D series can go under the hood and the xp can't. Plus the xp has a huger AH output than the D. Anyway my question is that I'm looking at either getting the D975 or the XP2000 so which one should I go with for the trunk battery? Thanks in advance. 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw
775Tundra
You want the D. Jk I think the xp's are recommended for trunck batteries but idk because lots of people throw d3100's back there. Hopefully someone else chimes in. 2003 Tahoe dc 7.5k dc level 5 15's (3) MMats 341's xs power batts lots of sky high cable dual alts(came off the sky-high gmc and don't know who made them) ipad in center console vu-din in center console all being ripped out and being sold

From what i have learned, the D series is better with instantaneous current draw. As far as one being better ofr under the hood, i dont think it matters. There both AGM batteries and most likely better than any stock battery you will have in there. The xp 2000 i believe is much bigger than the d975 so you can really compare the 2. I personally would only run the D series based on what people have experienced with the XP. And as far as trunk goes, biggest and most batteries you can fit. SnowDrifter
D series have a reinforced case to stand up to the higher temperatures (and in turn, higher battery pressure) of under the hood use. XP series do not, and as such are suggested only for use inside the car, away from the heat of the engine. That being said... It would also stand to reason that the D series will be more forgiving of being charged at a higher voltage. I know a lot of people like to charge their 12v batteries at 15v or higher ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
BigManAC
Snow, If I have the D3400 under the hood and just listen to music daily, nothing too crazy, how often should I charge the battery or would I need to if it is the only one and running with the alt? 2001 Saturn L200-Sony MEX-BT4100PFRONT STAGE:- (4) Crescendo PWX 6- Cadence XA250.2SUB STAGE:-Fi Audio BL 15 (Sealed Off)-Crescendo BC2kELECTRICAL:- Singer 240A alt - XS Power D3400- SkyHigh OFC power/speaker wire- Big 3 with SkyHigh 0gaugeBuild Log: Click HereScores: 146.5db @ 29hz Outlaw
