justin0943
Hey justin thanks for calling my alty fully retarded, means a lot lol!!! Ok so how do I fix this? I mean singer used a gm case and module and doesn't allow for that stator lead to be connected! It's just hanging off to the side! Does this mean that indeed I will need a external regulator to keep this alty in line? this alt you can't because it's internal regulated you have to go with a external alt. 02 dodge ram 1500 reg cab 3rd gen 2 sundown sd-2 d4 soundstream rub1.2500 amp all sky high car audio-fuse,fuse holder, wire, ring lugs and rca flex tech box design by Joe X supension-mcgaughys 2in drop spindal ,western chassis 6in flip kit, buddy custom c-notch 04 5.7l hemi motor swap and made it an slt eletric everthing youtube channel-http://www.youtube.c...43?feature=mhee http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/190882-02-dodge-ram-1500-3rd-gen/
P4killer_
Yea take it off asap. 16v on a car is not good. Not unheard of for certain cars to be able to handle, but unless you wanna play chicken and see who gives out first, you or the car,... take it out untill its sorted. Bump4life
talk to singer. seems like you need to hook it up right. if it is a gm alt, all you need is 1 wire to turn it on and internal regulator will take over Buyer/Seller Feedback Thread: http://www.stevemead...5015-bump4life/ MB C220 153 Trunk Car Build Log: http://www.stevemead...d/#entry1840136 MB C280 Ipad Dash SQ Build Log: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/194484-bump4lifes-new-benz-tony-c-relay-kit-pictures-ce-electric-audison-front-stage-installed/ My SPL Log: http://www.stevemead...__fromsearch__1 BMW M340 xDrive Stock, for now. Miguels
i have a singer 350 and dont get a spike.. the belt is tight and somewhat good wrap.. in my ford i have a mechman 340 and get a spike to 15.2.. the issue is belt slip.. there is not much belt wrap that when its under load it slips then engages making it spike.. are you using the old belt and did you get a shorter belt? my ford is a 98.. there is no doubt your belt is slipping. get a shorter belt like 2 inches or get a pulley kit from mechman that gives you a whole lot better belt wrap my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

Pauly1987
Singer used a 1.9inch pully allowing me to utalise the stock belt, which is a brand new gates belt I installed when I put in the alty! Don't think it's belt slip but I could be wrong I'll check it out and see
MECHMAN
hey guys I have a interesting problem! The singer altanator that I put in the truck this weekened is charging a little high, it's a 340amp alty and this thing is a beast, so much so it's bad! I'm throwing my amps into protect mode and shutting off music! Not fun! I don't know what my kicker zx2500 or kicker zx650.4 protect at but there both being thrown into protect! I've seen as high as 16.4 spike real quick but usually I spike at 15.7 and then it goes back down to 14.9!! ( this happens when I hit the gas leaving from a dead stop) or just when ever I give the engine gas in general! Is there a simple fix? F150 99 pick up ext cab 4.6 engine! Singer used a gmc module on the alty with a conversion wire adapter so I could plug it into my ford harness! The thing is..... My alty had three wires( one plug with two wire and a second plug with a single wire) the singer alty has no spot for a second plug just the two wire plug! Hope that made seence! This sounds like a belt slip issue. You may need to check the tensioner. Plus the Ford 5.4/4.6 have terrible belt wrap. We don't recommend anything more than a 270 without a Dual Idler Kit 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
Pauly1987
If I had belt slip would I not be losing volts not making volts, maybe I'm missing somthing here! Not trying to say you are wrong just trying to better understand! Today when merging onto the freeway I floored it and volts showed 15.1 but the battery light on the dash started blinking!!! ( amps didn't shut off like usual) but obviously something's wrong if my dash light is blinking! Im ether going to be getting a 1inch shorter belt or switching back to the stock alty until I can get things sorted

If your light is blinking you may have a regulator problem. 1-888-MECHMAN www.Mechman.com [email protected]
Pauly1987
Yup light was blinking!! I'm assuming it's because volts were to high in the actual system of the truck! It did this at 5rpm right before I shifted into second gear! I have a feeling it is that stator plug that has not been used and is just hanging there!
