Ok so im planning a up comming build and am trying to get sound deadner soon sence i will be replacing the interrior in my car. Is fat mat any good? If properly preped can it stick to roofs and stuff that seems to be my only worry. Or are their better brands in the same price range

Ive used fatmat, fatmat rattle trap, dynamat, and second skin. I think for what it is fat mat is worth the money. I liked second skin because it was black and it was high quality, the foil on it was a bit thicker and seemed to be harder to form to curvy surfaces(which is almost everything in a vehicle) but it stuck well. Just didn't get into every nook and cranny like fat mat did. it still covered everything just fine, but if I had to choose between the three I would go with fatmat. Just for money reasons. If that wasn't an issue I would use second skin.

It stuck to everything great! Even the roof, but not soo sticky that you couldn't peel it up if you didn't lay it down just perfect at first. Cuts pretty well. The cheap roller I got with mine kept breaking so I bought a stinger roller for like 35buck that came with a better utility knife(box cutter) from a local shop.

Funny how the people who have a louder system than you will usually give you a compliment about your setup because they know how much blood, sweat, time, and money you put into it. The people who criticize or try and one up you....have a p.o.s to no system at all and will tell you all about this "other" guys system! Saddley I'm sure if I meet this "other" guy...he will probably tell me he thinks your just as annoying as I think you are!

I'm not compensating, just proud of fabricating!

I went with rattle trap by fatmat. Supposed to be a little thicker and for 2bucks a sq ft you cant lose. I recommend it.

This generic stuff works great.

I have installed it when it was cold out and when it was 112 out. It has always stuck with no issues and has never created any so called bad smells. Used it in several vehicles.

Double layer it. My only problem with fatmat is it's this. So again that's why I doubled it up. I now have it in all my vehicles. Of course there's better brands out there but it's good and will do what you need it to do[/quote

Yeah because doubling shitty product is he way to go and still doesnt work as good as a single layer of real deadner .... yes ive used it never waste my money on that crap again ... havent used the megamat that looks like real deadner and is butyl but its not much cheaper then second skin...
