i know that 3/4" is to flexible for my subs as ive tried that in the past. if i use 2 sheets of 3/4" i wont have enough internal volume for my application/size. is there any issue with using a 1/4" sheet glued and screwed to a 3/4" sheet? or maybe 2 1/2" sheets?

Do 2 sheets of 1/2 glued and screwed. and brace it good with dowels or threaded rod

204.25 in2 of port area, .38 bracing, 30hz tune, 14.37 cubic net volume. is my math correct first of all and second what do we think of the design?

this is what i have mocked up so far, its the second design: MFLyfWx.jpg

screws are useless after glue dries might as well just spread the glue like butter on bread make sure there is good coverage and glue them and put weights on the sheets untill it sets... save a few bucks on screws

Btw that was the first person. Ever banned by me while dropping a deuce. Feel privileged

Only if the right glue is used.

Adding a piece of 3/4 to the underside of the baffle will take away such a small amount of internal volume that it won't really effect the box. You are better off losing that negligible amount of airspace and having a good strong baffle than having a floppy baffle and perfect airspace. Double 3/4 that baffle!

your saying i should add another 3/4 to the baffle in the design? the baffle is currently 1.5" thick with the rest of the port being .75" and the box itself being 1". so a 2.25" thick baffle is what your recommending?

if i had the space id run the entire box as 1.5" but i think the best i can do is to add some wood braces here and there.

Glue is the true bond when working with wood. If you're not using the correct glue, even screws won't save you from a badly built enclosure.

Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?

You can't spare an inch and a half on the sides and top and botto.and three quarters of an inch on the back and put an extra baffle on the outside?
