Nick639
hey guys i'm new to this forum, i currently have a single skar audio vvx v2 12'' subwoofer in a box i built but something is wrong. At high volumes the air coming out of the port is almost non existant :/.. i get a slight output from it but its minimal. my ported p1 subs use to expel more air from the port. please help. https://www.dropbox.com/s/hq2keedtemocl46/dfgfg.png ^^^ click link to view sheet

Krakin
Port area is kinda low. That would make the air velocity rise though. So I would assume that he has a wiring issue. Not to say you are wrong about port area being low. Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. jarrius
I'm no box expert but I think that's where your problem lays. First is your box is way to big. Skar recommends 2cubes max for there 12 in a ported box. Second you may be having a loading issue(think that's what it's called) your sub may not be getting any back pressure from your box because of the sizzle and where the sub is located on the box itself. Look in to those issues first IMO May be some one better with boxes can take a look but that's what I see. 2012 Chevy sonic1xSQ HDC3 12 D2RF R1200d 140 square foot of Q-Mat(soon to be installed) 140.2Db sealed on the dash with TL 142 DB sealed on the dash with another meter (was dead on with the TL at a show i was at) 141 on music. strangeduck,on 02 Jan 2014 - 01:39 AM, said: when my car spins out i just put the car in neutral, turn in the direction i want to go and pucker my asshole

Triticum Agricolam
Are you saying you get airflow a low volumes and not at high volumes on the same song or you just don't get much airflow ever? You are only going to get air flow out of the port around its tuning frequency. If whatever you are playing doesn't have any content around your tuning frequency there just isn't going to be much flow.
