chevy Silverado 2009 5.3 trying to get around bcm to keep voltage up.

I live in atl. Ga. And have the same issue everyone with these type vehicles have with the module cutting back my voltage. I'm thinking of running two alts one just for the system mainly the sub amps. Which are right now one soundqubed 3500.1 I plan on adding a second 3500 soon. But I've got to get a more constant voltage. If I run a dual alt set up and the second alt is dedicated solely to the amps could I run a one wire internally regulated model so I can get free of this module. Ill keep the current 250 amp hooked to the truck to run its functions and possibly use the overage to run my mids and high amp. But I am trying to see if this is possible. And if so can someone point me in the right direction for a quality bracket/ 300+ amp alt. Am I stuck having to use the same style alt with the bracket kit or will it open up some doors to more what I'm looking to achieve? Thanks for any help on this .

do you have a tow haul mode? I've seen some people are able to trick it by turning the tow haul mode on. I don't know what adverse efects that would have for you though.

look to see if MLA makes a module for the 07 and newer chvy trks... Couldnt be any easier. Ive been using my dual alt setup with the MLA module for 4 years now and never a single issue ever. Hot summer voltage is 15.0-1 and cold weather 40f and below can get to 15.4-8 constant. Also, if you need any tips or help installing, im in the ATL area too

I love my staffie :good:

So anti FACEBOOK it isn't even funny

I think you're on to something there. I had heard awhile back that turning the headlight switch manually to run the headlight will keep the alt slimming and charging as well. The computer figures the lights are a draw so it doesn't do it's shut off trick for the alt, but rather allows it to stay charging.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

If you dont mind your battery light being on, you can wire in a 1 wire turn on for the alt and just leave the stock plug unplugged.

Or run the dual alt bracket with the secondary alt like you are thinking. Leave your stock alt to charge only the front battery and stock accessories and have the charge lines run from the second alt straight to the back batteries.

I'm leaning toward the dual set up with a dedicated system alt. Ill keep the 250 amp for vehicle operations and possibly to run my mid high amp and use the second alt for my sub amps I've got one sq 3500.1 and want to add a second 3500..thanks for he
