juan777
I used to have snowcaps holding my wiring together (I know, I know), this morning I pulled those heavy F****ers out and crimped my wiring with a couple of 2gauge terminals I modified to meet my needs, the connections (3 10gauge cables, + from HDC4s and cable to amp, same for -) are now fully secured and were crimped with my large gauge crimpers. I couldn't pull them apart if I tried. I also took the bass knob out of the equation, I have literally replaced everything but the amp and subs (Head Unit too, I needed to upgrade it anyway) in search of the root of the issue, if this does not work it may be the amp, I seriously hope it's not. If it is, I hope it is covered by my warranty and that Soundqubed can actually test for this since it is an intermittent issue. Will keep you all posted. P.S. Karkov, I would be happy to share pics of my install, I am fairly new to the forum though and I'm not quite sure what the best way to post pics is, any help is appreciated and will be rewarded with pics of my install, even though it is lacking in the aesthetics department, it does get pretty loud in there though** **When it works The L@zy Hoe 2005 Chevy Tahoe 2,500 Watts of Highs/Mids 4 10 midrange 4 6.5 midwoofers 4 Tweeters 6 Supertweeters 2 Lithium 80AH Batteries 24K Watts 4 Custom 18s Quad alt setup Rebuilt 250amp and 3 370s Interior work by Lone Star Auto Works The Build Log Like Loud Bass? juan777
FML. It was not the bass knob. That leaves the amp, or the subs. 90% sure it's not the subs. juan777
This morning my amp just didn't wanna play. The problem got worse, at first it went away and didn't come back for 2wks, then 1wk, then twice a week, daily etc I finally was able to test the issue real-time: Amp power light on Protect light off RCAs had AC power Both positives and grounds reading 14.8v Speaker outputs=0 AC!!!!! Called SQ, explained the issue, they will put it in the bench and test...fingers crossed The L@zy Hoe 2005 Chevy Tahoe 2,500 Watts of Highs/Mids 4 10 midrange 4 6.5 midwoofers 4 Tweeters 6 Supertweeters 2 Lithium 80AH Batteries 24K Watts 4 Custom 18s Quad alt setup Rebuilt 250amp and 3 370s Interior work by Lone Star Auto Works The Build Log Like Loud Bass? juan777
So SQ called back The amp is perfect, no defects or malfunctions, Zak with SQ suggested I recheck my RCAs I'm gonna go out and buy new ones altogether. Anyone have any ideas other than RCAs? greezychef
Not trying to sound condescending but is it Lower frequency notes? Maybe not able to cover the lows well? Idk
juan777
Don't think so, I got no problem playing lows when the amp is working. While I waited for my amp, I installed my old hifonics to have some bass in the 'Hoe. The amp never had issues I told SQ about this, they said they had one more thing to test and they'll get back to me The L@zy Hoe 2005 Chevy Tahoe 2,500 Watts of Highs/Mids 4 10 midrange 4 6.5 midwoofers 4 Tweeters 6 Supertweeters 2 Lithium 80AH Batteries 24K Watts 4 Custom 18s Quad alt setup Rebuilt 250amp and 3 370s Interior work by Lone Star Auto Works The Build Log Like Loud Bass? gckless
So is it 30 minutes after full tilt? Only certain frequencies? More info is needed before anyone can answer with any certainty. "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now. It's like witchcraft... it automatically explains just about everything people don't understand. juan777
What ever happened with this? Solution? Well I got word from SQ, benched twice, no issues, they sent it back but it got damaged during shipping. i am working with SQ to see what they do for me. In the mean time, I have been using my cousin's old MTX 3000watt amp for about 2weeks with absolutely no issues Crescendo BC5500D on the way....We'll see what happens with the Q3500 If SQ fixes the shipping damage and give it a clean bill of health a 3rd time I'll sell it The L@zy Hoe 2005 Chevy Tahoe 2,500 Watts of Highs/Mids 4 10 midrange 4 6.5 midwoofers 4 Tweeters 6 Supertweeters 2 Lithium 80AH Batteries 24K Watts 4 Custom 18s Quad alt setup Rebuilt 250amp and 3 370s Interior work by Lone Star Auto Works The Build Log Like Loud Bass?
