ChevyBoy95
you will need more than 2 12s on 3k to do a 150 out of a trunk and have a musical set up.... edit: If you want a 50, i would do 2 mayhem 12's on like 5-7.5k sealed off firing forward. DubNDodge
Dude, you just had issues setting a filter on your amp and now you are trying to get a musical 150 out of the trunk? There's only a handful of people doing musical 150s out of the trunk. Get some beefy 12s, get about 3-4kw worth of amps then seal off the trunk and call it a day. Expect a 145, and be happy if you score higher. alaskanzx5
2 12s on 1500 and I did a 143. Double power can be good for up to 3db gain I wouldn't count on more then 1db gain. Would only have put me near 144. 150 out a trunk and musical is hard but a good goal. Could start with some subs that can take 2-3k rms each feed them 2-3k total then double power for 5-6k rms. I would say with a great box design from building and testing with solid electrical could get you close to a 150db out the trunk. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz. alaskanzx5
I have been a RF nuthugger for a while so I have no personal exp with any other brands. I gave looked at Sundown, fi and DD some. I've heard a few setups with DD never heard an fi and only 1-2 sundown's. I like the sound of dd and they have good power handling. The can get pricey though. sundown sounds good from what I've heard and from what I see on here can get loud. I want to try out fi sometime personally though. Don't know why but I just think with some testing and 3k to a single 15 I could get loud and still be musical. best thing to do is try and find people in your area that will demo for you to find what you like the sound of the best. Go to competitions find the loud guys and get demos. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
