Aj11
so i bought a new car And my custom box i built for my Durango won't fit in my grand prix. since I'm getting the new ct sound exo I'm not building a box for my rs. especially since I'm selling them anyway. for the time being my buddy let me barrow his prefab box he bought at best buy for $140+tax put my rs in it hooked Them up to my ct 1400.1 @1ohm and wow does it sound bad! i have nothing below 40hz and everything above that is well poop! curious me wanted to know why a box for 2 12s would sound so bad? i Mean for $140 i was expecting.more! (i didn't spend a dime btw) so i went and found the specs on this thing. to my surprise each sub has 1.15 net air space! what? a vented box for 12s with 1.1 cubes... ok wtf? then to.my.amazement right there in black and white it said * tuned port No haha you got to be kidding me! $140 box not big enough for 2 8s with a port with no tune! so kids if you have really nice subs and want to spend $140 bucks to choke your subs i got just the thing for you. and besides tuning your box is overrated anyway! don't buy when you can build! jvc deck stinger 1800 front hc 2000 kinetic rear 2 runs of 1/0g big 3/4 ct 60.4 2 ct 1400.1 ct EXO 15 d1 lots of deadner type r comps front stage 6 kicker tweets rear stage lots of great stuff coming soon ho alt more bats ct comps for front stage more deadner sweet amp rack lots of L.E.D lights new deck (thinking 80 prs, or flip out)
ToNasty
prefabs, are never driver specific, they are usually tuned to the moon and never enough port area ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers

BoomZoom808
I've had some that sucked and some that sounded decent it also depends on how flexible the driver is you are putting in it is with air space requirements. Building a custom is always the best way to go tho. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON

Nikitaaa
Hate to be a party pooper but Im doing 48s legal, 50 outlaw out of the trunk with a prefab. Givin ive chnaged the port to allow more port area, but still. I wouldn't be so quick to stereotype all prefabs as being shitty. 2007 M/T Honda Civic Coupe EX (4) Sundown Audio X-8's (2) Ampere Audio 3800.1's (3) Stinger SPV-44 Batteries (1) Mechman 240 3:1 Ratio 4th order sealed from the trunkTEAM NWSPLBest termlab scores to date in Honda trunk:151.7db legal (official) IASCA trunk 3 classBest termlab scores to date in my walled Subie:152.9db legal (unofficial) IASCA advanced 2 class155db outlaw
Ahmed Johnson
I had an atrend bbox that the front wall where the subs were blew off. I found out they used staples to put the box together. On top of that, the glue never followed the seam. I mean they literally took some black goop and let it drip down the box hoping it would follow a seam. I did a test where I took a 15 inch atrend box put a piece of wood over the cutouts and turned it into a 12 box. It was a huge improvement but it still lacked compared to a custom box

Well that one started out as a prefab and then you went in and customized it. What were your scores before you tinkered with the box?
